Founding Families · the first 250

Pay for a year and a half. We'll cover the rest — until high school.

$149 CAD, once. No annual fees until your youngest kid starts high school. Every feature we ever build, included. This page explains why we'd offer that — and exactly where the edges of the deal are.

Why we're doing this

Monty is new. We think it's the right way to teach kids about money — three jars, one weekly ritual, no debit card, no real money held — but “we think” isn't worth much to you yet. What's worth something is families actually running Monty o'clock every week, telling us what works, and telling other parents when it does.

That's what the first 250 families are for. You're not just early customers. You're the families whose Monty O'Clocks shape what Monty becomes.

So instead of asking you to pay full price for an app that's still earning its reputation, we flipped it: pay us less than what a year and a half costs today — $149— and we'll carry your family through the years when they're building their first money habits. If your youngest is seven, that's roughly seven years of Monty for about $21 a year. If they're twelve, it's about two years for roughly $75 a year — still a fraction of the sticker price. Either way, the last annual fee you'll ever think about is the one you're not paying.

Here's the honest version of why this works for us too: most subscription apps lose families after two or three years anyway. We'd rather have 250 families who stay for a decade, hold us accountable, and tell the parents at school pickup — than a thousand who drift off in year two.

This deal costs us the most on exactly the families we want most. We're fine with that.

The badge

You were here first. Your workspace says so.

Every Founding Family gets a numbered badge in their family workspace — your spot of the 250, in the same signature that's on everything we make. It doesn't unlock anything, because nothing in Monty is locked. It just marks the families whose Monty O'Clocks built this.

The deal

What you get

Everything on the Monty Family plan, for up to five kids, until your youngest starts high school:

  • The weekly ritual — Monty o'clock, five minutes, every week
  • The three jars — Spend, Save, Give— with the split in your kid's hands
  • Saving goals your kid picks, tracks, and finishes
  • Family money rules, parent approvals, money lessons, progress insights
  • The full record— every split, every goal, every Monty O'Clock, saved. Founding kids will have the longest records in Monty: start when they're eight, and when high school starts you can scroll back through years of their own decisions.
  • Every feature we ever ship — including Grow, the practice-investing add-on, at no extra charge when it arrives (practice shares only — no real money, no real trades, ever)
  • A Founding Family badge in your workspace — you were here first, and it says so

The edges of the deal

In plain language

Founding offers usually hide their rules. Ours are short enough to just say.

1

The Grade 8 date is set when you join.

Coverage runs through August 31 of the calendar year your youngest child turns 14, covering their Grade 8 year. The children on your account when you join set the date.

2

New kids do not extend the date.

You can add children to your account anytime (up to five profiles), but the coverage date stays the same. That keeps the deal simple and the same for everyone.

3

One per family workspace, non-transferable.

The deal belongs to your family's workspace and stays with it.

4

Full refund inside four Monty O'Clocks.

Same as the trial. If the ritual doesn't take, we don't keep your money.

5

When the 250 spots are gone, the next 250 are $199.

After that, standard pricing. We're saying that now so the urgency on this page is real, not manufactured.

That's all of them.

For the cold arrivals

What Monty o'clock actually looks like

Monty runs on one standing appointment: five minutes, three jars, same time every week. Your kid splits their allowance themselves — money for now, money for later, money for others. They watch the goal they chose get closer. Some weeks the screen says not yet. Some weeks the bar fills, and you get to say the best four words in the app: let's go get it.

No real money moves through Monty — your bank stays the source of truth. Monty never nudges a kid to spend and never decides for them. It's a place to see money and think about it, not just spend it.
